Tekno Returns With Where Did Love Go, His Most Romantic Album Yet

Tekno

Tekno has released his new album, ‘Where Did Love Go?,’ an eight track project that leans fully into melody, vulnerability, and the kind of romance he has built his career on. The album is out now via emPawa Africa.

The project follows singles “Bamboo,” “Press Button,” and “Matter,” which have already pulled in more than 3.1 million streams combined. Tekno produced half the album himself and worked with Yung Willis, D’Meek, Justopac, and Tino on the rest, landing on a sound that moves between Afrobeats, Afropop, and dancehall.

“Bamboo” opens things gently, setting a warm, familiar tone before “Press Button” picks up the pace with a dancehall bounce. The emotional core of the album is “Adaeze,” where Tekno sits with the frustration of loving someone who has pulled away. “Matter” flips that vulnerability into loyalty, turning a simple promise into a sing-along hook.

“Port Au Prins” pushes devotion further, with Tekno imagining crossing borders for love. “Wedding Day” moves into celebration, exploring commitment with melodies that feel intimate rather than grand. “Gently” keeps the mood light and confident, and the album closes on “Avelay,” built around the phrase “I dey available,” a reminder that love often shows up as presence and reliability.

Across the project, Tekno maps out romance in its many stages: desire, doubt, devotion, commitment, responsibility. It is a strong argument for why he remains one of Afrobeats’ most consistent voices when it comes to writing about love without losing the groove.

‘Where Did Love Go?’ is streaming now on all platform
